Dornfelder was first created in 1955, in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. It is now cultivated on over 8,000 hectares, including 3,000+ ha in the Pfalz. The variety stands out for its dark coloration and significant extracts. Neiss' Dornfelder hits the classic varietal markers, including intense coloration and concentration, with aromas of ripe cherry. A powerful wine with grip.

Deep, intense, and dark ruby / purple. Aroma of Dominant notes of ripe cherry and other dark fruits, sometimes with hints of vanilla (if oak-aged) or spice (like cinnamon).
Very fruity and powerful, typically featuring rich black cherry, blackberry, and plum. Some find notes of bramble and a slight spiciness. Medium to Full-bodied. AcidityBright/Crisp (Medium to High), which keeps the wine fresh and vibrant. Tannins is Soft and moderate, giving it "grip" without being overly chewy. Dry ( Trocken
) style, but is often fruit-forward and approachable.
